Gordon Ramsay's insults towards an Australian TV personality have sparked a diplomatic incident after the country's Prime Minister intervened.Kevin Rudd spoke out to criticise the foul-mouthed TV chef, saying that his offensive comments reflected "a new form of low life".
Ramsay had shocked an audience at the Melbourne Food Fair by holding up an image of a naked woman with a pig's face and comparing it to popular TV host Tracy Grimshaw, whose show he had been a guest on the previous evening.
He has since sought to play down the incident and claim that he is friends with Ms Grimshaw, but she has since hit back and labelled him an "arrogant narcissist" and "a bully" on her Monday night programme.
Ramsay may have misjudged the popular mood in Australia, where public figures frequently use more coarse language than in the UK or US.
Gordon's not the only celeb to have put his foot in it lately though, as our gallery reveals...

As for the Australians kicking up a fuss - all I can say to them is that they should toughen up a bit. They knew what Gordon is like so what are they complaining about? It's not as if we haven't had to put up with their vulgar comedians over the years ...
