Michael Jackson's public memorial will now take place at an L.A stadium.

Hollywood's Staples Centre will be the stage for what insiders are predicting will be the 'greatest show on earth' - just as Michael would have wanted it.

Over a million people are expected to turn up to see Jackson lying in a gold coffin and hear tributes from a selection of music legends.

Giant screens will be set up outside the 20,000-seater stadium and a global TV audience of 750 million are expected to tune in to watch.

The event, which will take place on Tuesday, has been confirmed by the Jackson family and is expected to include tributes from stars including Sir Paul McCartney, Diana Ross and Dame Elizabeth Taylor.

President Barack Obama is also thought to have been sent an invitation, according to The Sun.

According to US reports, Michael will be buried in a £15,000 14-carot gold plated casket, similar to one his friend James Brown was buried in.

A row erupted yesterday, however, after it was claimed promoters AEG Live, who own the Staples Centre, are set to charge fans £15 a ticket for the 'event'.
