Chris Brown has apologised for his attack on Rihanna in a video posted on YouTube.

Brown tells fans he is ashamed of the way he behaved towards his ex-girlfriend earlier this year, when she suffered facial injuries after he beat her.

The R&B singer said he accepted "full responsibility" and expressed his "deepest regret over the fight".

He continues in the two minute video: "I've told Rihanna countless times and I'm telling you today I'm truly, truly sorry I wasn't able to handle the situation differently and better."

Brown is currently attending anger management courses and must do community service after he admitted to felony assault last month.

His career has also hit the skids since the attack, with many radio stations refusing to play his music.
