Amy Winehouse turned up looking immaculate at the first day of her trial, where she is accused of attacking a fan.

The star arrived at the court in pearls, a pinstripe suit, ballet pumps and her trademark beehive - and made a point of proving to photographers outside she was only 5ft 2in.

She claims she was spooked when the 5ft 7in woman "lunged" at her to have her photo taken. Amy said: "I was scared."

The incident took place at London's Berkeley Square Ball last September, where dancer Sherene Flash claims Amy punched her "forcefully" in her right eye.

Flash said: "She looked drunk. She looked maybe like she was on drugs or something. She punched forcefully in my right eye. I started crying."

But Amy protests she was merely moved her arm upwards because she felt threatened by the bigger girl.

The rehab star said: "She was bigger than me. I pushed my arm upwards. I just wanted to get her away. I was scared."

Winehouse said Flash refused to wait her turn to have her picture taken with her, adding: "Suddenly, out of nowhere, she's got her arm around me, her face next to mine, and there's a camera in front of me.

"I was like, 'Hello? Do I get a choice in this. Hello?"
