The girlfriend of Cameron 'son of Michael' Douglas has been arrested after allegedly trying to smuggle heroin to him in jail hidden inside an electric toothbrush.

Kelly Sott was reportedly arrested after passing the toothbrush to Douglas while he was under home detention following a court hearing on a methamphetamine-dealing charge.

She was arrested at the Hotel Gansevoort in Manhattan, where she was staying and where 30-year-old Douglas was arrested last week.

He is being held at the hotel, with security being carried out by a private company. We're not sure what that's all about, but presumably if you're rich in America you don't have to go to jail with the hoi polloi.

Anyway, a court report claims that security guards heard him repeatedly and anxiously asking when a particular toothbrush was going to arrive - even though he had been given a toothbrush already.

When said toothbrush arrived, a guard searched it and found a brownish substance in the battery compartment - which a field test indicated was around seven grams of heroin.

The room was then searched and more heroin, marijuana and crystal meth is thought to have been found.

Oh dear.
