Katie Price and Peter Andre arriving at Heathrow shortly before announcing their divorceAfter four years of marriage and several months of bitterness and slanging matches, in the end it took just one minute for a High Court judge to grant the divorce of Katie Price and Peter Andre.

District Judge Bradley granted a decree nisi on the grounds of unreasonable behaviour from both parties.

With Katie having filed for divorce as soon as she heard Peter had done the same, the pair had applied for a cross decree.

Divorce lawyer Vanessa Lloyd Platt explained: "In most cases, a cross decree occurs when neither party wants to back down or admit to being in the wrong."

Sounds about right.

But the pair will have to endure the six week cooling off period before the decree absolute can be granted. That might prove harder for Peter who has taken a vow of celibacy until the divorce is finalised.

However, no other details of the divorce can be released as Pete's lawyers attempt to keep them shrouded in secrecy.

Judge Bradley said: "I have before me, in anticipation of an application being made today, a letter from those representing Mr Andre asking that notice of any such application be given to the solicitors for the parties in this case.

Given that I have to exercise discretion in determining what to permit to disclose to the press, I find it difficult to do that without the parties and their representatives to express their views to the court."

Hmmm... intriguing.
