Jade Goody's family won a case against Mirror Group Newspapers and picture agency Newspics over photos taken at the star's private burial.

The photos had been on the front cover of The People on 4 April, and in a special pullout the next day.

Seven members of Jade's family - including her mother and grandparents - were awarded £35,000 in damages.

The family had stated the photos were an invasion of their privacy as though the funeral was a public affair the burial was a private event.

According to reports on the BBC, Mirror Group Newspapers and Newspics agreed not to publish or re-distribute any photos from the private burial. They also wrote to Jade's family apologising for the distress caused.

Jade has also been in the news because of the 12% rise in 2008 for young women being screened for cervical cancer.

The chief medical officer at the charity Macmillan, Professor Jane Maher, said, "Jade Goody really did leave a lasting legacy... so many more young women are now looking at their own health and are motivated into taking action."

Despite Jade's illness saving many young women's lives, she definitely went before her time. See other young stars who were also too young to die.
