In possibly the worst case of pots calling kettles black that we've ever come across, Victoria Beckham has spoken out to attack the media's obsession with weight.

The 35-year-old former Posh Spice says that the press is "incredibly irresponsible" for constantly focusing on her weight because, erm, a lot of young girls look up to her.

Her worryingly thin physique is an evergreen favourite among celebrity journalists, but she claims young readers are somehow being misinformed about her body image.

She told Attitude magazine: "I don't like it when people criticise my weight because I know that there are a lot of young girls who look up to me, so I consider that incredibly irresponsible.

"Everyone knows images are tidied up for fashion covers and when you do shoots in magazines. However, people don't realise how often paparazzi pictures are also doctored in the totally opposite way, that many weekly magazines run these images to make you look bad and it's incredibly irresponsible.

"Every week they are pointing out someone's cellulite or tummy bulge. The obsession with fat and thin is out of control."

She says that she doesn't read a lot of what is written abotu her, but that she has a team of people to do it for her and to tell her when to sue.

"I don't really care about the criticism because I feel very fulfilled creatively and professionally," she said.

"I'm a big girl, I'm 35 years old. I've got three children and a husband so I don't really give a sh*t about that kind of thing."

We're not convinced that it's entirely the fault of us hacks if young people see Posh looking dangerously skinny and want to look the same - and we're damn sure that we never use Photoshop to make anyone look better or worse.
