Winona RyderThings have changed a little since the days of Edward Scissorhands. Winona Ryder (remember her?) has been busy going all low-budget and indie in a bid to revitalise her film career.

And she's discovered it's not all huge trailers and caviar in the world of independent film-making.

The actress is reportedly "slumming it" on the set of The Private of Lives of Pippa Lee after requesting only simple comforts during the filming of the gritty drama.

According to the Sun, Winona whined: "Little did I know I would be in Danbury, Connecticut, without a rental car, living off a highway."

What? No rental car... a highway? But Winona, how did you cope?

Thank goodness for the lovely but sullen Keanu Reeves, is all we can say.

Ryder added: "I had to rely on Keanu, who had the car he drives in the film, to get me to Starbucks – that's how low-budget it was."

Low-budget indeed. Unless of course, Keanu had the good sense to request the car as one of his 'simple comforts'.

Bearing in mind Winona's previous bizarre attempts at shop-lifting, we imagine the local stores may have shut up shop for a while.

It's tough being a celebrity. And they like to let us know that with some good old-fashion whingeing...
