Elizabeth Taylor at her Silver Jubilee birthday partyShe stood by him through the toughest of times and was devastated by his death... there is no doubting that Liz Taylor was a close and dear friend to Michael Jackson.

But as a veteran of several classic Hollywood movies and an acting legend in her own right, you might be surprised by her review of the movie This Is It.

She gave the film, put together from hours of footage as the King of Pop rehearsed for his comeback performances at the O2, a big thumbs up.

And when we say thumbs up, we really mean it. Liz tweeted: "It is the single most brilliant piece of filmmaking I have ever seen."

Crikey... that's really saying something. Hasn't she seen Moonwalker? Could she have been swayed by her love for Jacko?

Well, possibly. She did continue: "I wept from pure joy at his God given gift. There will never, ever be the likes of him again," and was back online later yesterday to declare Michael a "modern day prophet".

Elsewhere the movie has sparked a backlash from fans. Rumours of body doubles have been rife (and denied) and a protest group called This Is Not It has been set up by fans seeking to raise awareness of Jacko's failing health.

But if you take Liz Taylor's word for it the film, out next Tuesday, will be truly unmissable.

There's no doubting Jacko's talent. We take a look back at his weird and wonderful life...
