We wonder what Pamela Anderson was thinking when she accepted the offer to star in panto this Christmas.Apparently, the Baywatch babe had never seen a pantomime prior to accepting the role of the Genie in Aladdin at the New Wimbledon Theatre.
Pam told BBC Newsbeat: "The fun of it is kind of walking into it a little blind and seeing what happens. I think pantomime is another wild crazy choice I get to make in my career.
"The fact that I was even asked to do it was flattering. I was thinking I might be walking an invisible dog, and I still said I would do it!"
Invisible dog?... it's much worse than that Pam.
Asked about rumours that she was forced into this undignified new role by bankruptcy, Anderson replied: "If the worse thing I am to people is broke then that's okay – because it's not the worst thing I am!" (ooh, do tell).
"I'm very fortunate to have the homes that I have and the life that I have. I don't think anybody is crying in the soup over here in my family."
Good for you, we say.
And the Theatre must be thanking their lucky stars that she "walked into it blind"... ticket sales for this year's show are up 800%.
Wonder if there'll be more dads at the show this year.
Pamela's not the only one to have experienced the joy of panto. We take a look at some the more unusual celebrity panto stars...
