X Factor main man Simon Cowell has claimed that he will quit not only the show, but also the country should his worst nightmare come true and John and Edward win this year's competition. As probably the last sane person in the country, Simon has gone all sulky over the twins' success while the rest of the UK seemingly can't get enough of their strangely entertaining performances.
Simon told the Daily Star: "I'm just praying it's not John and Edward. It is impossible to predict who will win X Factor but I know who I don't want to win it.
"According to reports, there is a chance that they will. If they win it will be a complete and utter disaster."
Mr Cowell might give the voting public one more chance but added that if they are successful over the next few weeks, it may be the last we see of him.
"I'd probably sulk for about six months, and I'd probably get on a very fast plane out of the country.
"The fact is, it's a singing competition and they can't sing. I don't dislike them as people. I just don't think they're the act we were looking for."
Last night Louis Walsh, mentor to Jedward, joked: "If Simon says he'll quit the country when John and Edward win, I'll happily pay for his plane ticket. One way, of course."
The twins are due to (sort of) sing Queen's We Will Rock You on tonight's show.
John and Edward are highly unlikely to but Simon Cowell has most definitely made it big in America...

I agree with Simon think they are rubbish & need singing leasons. Do they know their voices should carry a "government health warning". These are my views and might not be yours but this is a way of saying what I think.
Thank you.

Their comments and attitudes are reflected in and by the gutter press, which has recently compared one contestant to Adolf Hitler! What next I wonder? Cheryl Cole as the next Mother Theresa?
Dear old Louis went to great lengths to inform us all that contestants didn't need to sing well in order to get into the top ten! Pearls of inspirational encouragement indeed for the talentless!
Speculative scandal, inappropriate jokes, personal remarks and rumour mongering about other categories is now dressed up as fun and entertainment or "honest" crticism and responsive mentoring.
Lets get real and with no offence intended.
Cheryl Cole didn't pick Lloyd because he could sing, perform or dance.
Louis Walsh didn't pick the twins because they have talent or stage presence.
Cole's comments this Saturday about how she was personally unable to appreciate Danyl's singing was not motivated by constructive criticism.
And I believe Dannii Minogue's "joke" about Danyl's bisexuality on show 3 was a calculated risk she was willing to take.
Walsh, Cole and Minogue are shrewd, cynical and hard-headed enough to know that a pretty cutesy face, the right image and sex-appeal coupled with enough media hype can override banal drivel, masquerading as talent.
Cheryl's new single is in my opinion, testament to this.
People who are genuinely interested in talent and music find the X Factor judges and their "critiques" a joke. Remember how several years ago Louis discarded Alexander Burke? Compounding his idiocy, Louis recently justified his decision on this year's show to Simon commenting that she wasn't "ready" and that her singing wasn't good enough. And the twins are ?!!
The X factor has for me become the WC Factor. I want to flush the c--p down the pan and wash my hands of it.
If you want to preserve a degree of musical integrity Simon, accept Walsh's offer, take a flight and beast a timely retreat!
So will you put your money where your mouth is and start a genuine show based on real talent? Or, if you can't beat em, will you join em? Your choice.
If the twins continue through to the final, it will be interesting to see which way you'll jump. Will it be into the arms of the devil you know?
