John and Edward have survived another week in The X Factor, after Rachel Adedeji got the boot from the fourth live show on Sunday night. The tuneless twins from Dublin were reported to be top of the voting the previous week, and although that was later denied - their energetic dance routines and cheesy charm certainly seem to have captured the public's imagination.
But there is also growing unease among fans that they seem to be staying in the contest at the expense of better singers.
And there have been calls from some quarters for them to jump before they are pushed - just like John Sergeant in last year's Strictly Come Dancing.
What do you think? Are the twins making a mockery of what is supposed to be a singing contest? Or are they a much needed breath of fresh air amid the turgidly serious cover versions?

To be honest, I dont really care about any of them this year, that's the only reason I am supporting John and Edward. The whole show is a joke. They at least make me laugh.
The judges didnt actually put through any of the people I would want to win it!
care for them much as presenters either lol, and of course the show is not for finding that kind of thing, all I meant was that's all they'd be really good for if anything.
But I stand by the fact that they're entertaining! As people have pointed out, Rachel would probably have gone next week if it had been the twins this week, there can only be one winner anywya which means all but one of them will be voted off. TRAGEDY!!! lol.
The show is cheap entertainment, a laugh. People shouldnt take it so seriously. Good artists dont need a show like X-factor to make it. Anyone worth it will make it anyway.

It's on ITV which is a commercial station. You do NOT pay your TV license for ITV etc. N E Hoo, COME ON ...Let's get real here, they can't sing in tune, in time or remember where to come in with the correct lyrics. Surely that is enough of a reason for them NOT to be in the show. Having said that, it's votes that count. Grrr rant rave grumble.

People then get their 'entertainment', and more deserving acts are able to go through.

responsible for this monster that has been created, namely Louis,
Danni and Cheryl. On the first day Simon [as normal] told the truth,
however the three named for spite put them through maybe for a joke,
but now this has backfired big time. I am unsure what the reason is
for keeping them in, but agree with others' that the show is becoming
a BIG joke with great singers going home. Not John and Edwards fault
but hopefully the judges will learn from this idiotic behaviour, or
if not Simon can you get three replacements ?
