Irish comedy X Factor act Jedward may have been dealt their worst blow yet as it is revealed that not every celebrity on the planet is backing them to win.Yes folks, the Cheeky Girls have spoken out about how it's just not about talent any more like it was in their day.
The Romanian twins Gabriela and Monica, who found fame on Pop Stars: The Rivals and later had a hit with The Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum), are reportedly fuming that Dublin lads John and Edward have been compared to them, saying: "They'll never have a career like ours."
Which will probably cheer the boys up no end. But the Cheeky Girls are keen to elaborate.
Monica told the Sun: "They'll never have a song on the radio like us. Without all the dancers around them, John and Edward would not be so attractive. There is a lot of smoke and mirrors."
Yes, whereas the Cheeky Girls relied on talent alone.
She added: "Our fan base is much wider. Fans of all ages listen to our songs. They don't even have a proper name."
And not to be left out of the bitchy proceedings, Gabriela said: "Please don't compare us to the twins.
"They are not like us except that they're biological twins. We have been performers since we were four.
"They're not a novelty act, we're a novelty act. A novelty act must have something new. They don't."
The Girls' last single, The Farmyard Hokey, failed to make the charts.
