Morrissey performing at a gig in ManchesterIt's not been the greatest of tours for Morrissey. Having cancelled a number of recent gigs after reportedly suffering with ill-health, the singer did actually collapse after performing This Charming Man at a recent gig in Swindon and was hospitalised as a result.

And perhaps there's something about the hit song that's unlucky for the ex-Smiths frontman.

For it was once again at the end of his performance of the crowd favourite at a Liverpool gig on Saturday night that things went awry.

Morrissey had performed only two songs at the city's Echo Arena when a 'fan' threw a missile at him.

Sadly, the plastic beaker of beer took a direct hit on the singer's head, and all while he was doing a bit of audience hand-shaking.

Having stood up and brushed the remaining beer from his head, Morrissey simply said "Goodbye" before walking offstage, swiftly followed by his band.

After 15 minutes, the announcement was made that he would not be returning to the stage but a full refund was on offer.
