Lindsay LohanThe ever persistent Michael Lohan has lashed out at reports that he took money in return for revealing private phone calls with his daughter.

Rumours were flying yesterday when it was reported that Lindsay's father had requested £62,500 for the taped conversations but was turned down, eventually taking the money instead for an interview.

But Michael is most insistent about his lack of payment for the tapes. And he's taken a leaf out of Lindsay's book by resorting to Twitter to make it all clear.

In a post directed at his daughter, Michael wrote: "The day when your (sic) getting treatment and the rehab you need, is the day I shut my mouth. Your (sic) not dying on my watch. I love you too much to just sit here & witness all this go down. I never got (a) DIME for the recordings/interviews CONTRARY to other reports."

But just in case he got in trouble after reports claimed that he broke California state law by illegally recording Lindsay's calls, he added: "ALL of my recordings were taped in NY (New York) – where it's completely legal to record phone conversations. There will be more to come!"

Still, it's nice that he's cleared up all those pesky issues before he released his next bombshell.
