Songbird Katy Perry left Chris Moyles hanging after cancelling an appearance on his TV show to spend a night in with boyfriend Russell Brand.

The lanky comic apparently called in 'sick' on behalf of his missus, saying she was "tired".

The call came just hours before recording of the Quiz Night show was about to begin, when Brand called Moyles and told him that Katy wouldn't be appearing because they wanted to spend the evening together.

A source said "Chris was a bit annoyed but thinks Katy is hot as well - and if she was his girlfriend, he'd probably do the same as well."

Moyles reportedly told his studio audience: "Katy is tired, apparently. But then she does go out with Russell Brand."

Wishing Katy and Russell would get a room? Maybe not as much as you wish you'd never heard of these gruesome twosomes...
