Lily Allen has admitted she is "really in love" and "really happy" with her builder boyfriend Sam Cooper.

Speaking on a local radio station, the singer said she has trouble finding men who aren't "intimidated" by her success. But she says Cooper - who she's been dating since July - "treats [her] like a lady".

She said: "My boyfriend still takes me out for dinner each week. He won't tell me where we are going. He puts on a suit and just takes me out and treats me like a lady.

"I want to be looked after."

The twenty-four-year-old singer also explained why she's not in to men her own age.

"I wouldn't go out with anyone my own age. I have sex with people my own age but I wouldn't go out with them. There needs to be an intellectual connection and I don't think I've ever had that with people my age."

The couple were first pictured together at a cricket match in the summer, but they made their first public appearance at this month's Q Awards.
