It's tough living a normal life when you're a celebrity, what with the paparazzi and the constant autograph signing.

And things clearly got too much for Jude Law in New York recently.

His unfortunate choice of apartment in Manhattan means that large numbers of New York University students are able to spy Jude going about his daily exercise routine.

Freshmen Priya Vij and Erica Rose were understandably excited to discover that the actor lived next door and set about telling as many of their fellow dorm inhabitants that they too could enjoy the Jude Law workout.

Vij told the New York Post: "There is pretty much chaos on every floor when he comes out. We have the best view on the floor. It is exciting to have a celebrity living right next to you.

"He is really attractive. He's rugged and scruffy."

Jude, however, finds the whole thing distasteful. And, in an attempt to prevent the unwelcome onlookers from seeing his "scruffiness", grabbed the first thing he could find... oranges.

Student Neha Najeeb explained: "He noticed we were there and we started waving at him. Then he went inside and came back with two oranges. He threw them at our window, but he missed.

"(Another time)... he hit the windows – there was orange pulp on the glass for a week – and then he went back to working out. Now we don't like Jude Law anymore."

Still, perhaps they should be thankful Jude's a healthy kind of a guy... tinned goods could have been so much worse.
