Nicole Richie has been allowed home to recover after a bout of pneumonia.

The mum of two, 28, was treated at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai medical centre last week after coming down with what was thought to be a nasty cold.

It's believed Nicole is being cared for by partner Joel Madden, who wrote on his band Good Charlotte's website: "All is well and we are home with no problems."

When the story broke, rumours circulated that Nicole had Swine Flu, but her spokesman has said this is not the case.

It's another episode in the ongoing Richie-Madden drama - two weeks ago Nicole was granted a restraining order against two paparazzi photographers.
