Kate Garraway dishes the dirt on Mariah's diva behaviour

She's only been in the UK for about a week, but Mariah Carey has already generated a host of stories about her diva-like antics.

The latest comes courtesy of GMTV presenter Kate Garraway, who has lifted the lid on Mariah's visit to the popular ITV breakfast show.

She revealed that Mariah had an entourage that was bigger than the entire GMTV crew - and claimed that she had two assistants to lower her onto the show's famous sofa.

Kate said: "We had Mariah Carey in the GMTV studios last week, where she was pre-recording an interview with Lorraine Kelly.

"I've heard a lot of rumours about her being a diva over the years and guess what? It turns out it's all true!

"While Mariah was very nice, the amount of people she had in her entourage was hilarious. They outnumbered the entire GMTV crew!

"She had two people to lower her on to the GMTV sofa, in case her dress got crushed, one person to walk in front of her backwards at all times in case she fell over and several people behind the camera making sure she was going to be filmed from the right angle!

"Have you ever heard anything like it? Oh, and she brought her own toilet roll as well."

That all sounds perfectly reasonable to us. We suspect Kate was just bitter because Mariah didn't share her loo roll.

As I said before, Mariah C has an over-inflated sense of her own importance. She is nothing more than a chubby also-ran. Nothing special about her in any way.

I agree. Sad her career is at an end. I see she had to appear on the x Factor the other night to start out all over again, from the bottom, and the judges didn't even care to vote for her, so sad really. Wish her the best.

she is in a different world to us. Totally unreal - I cannot even begin to imagine what world she lives in. To be lowered down onto a seat so I would not get my dress creased. I wonder what she is thinking right now.

It makes me feel sick when i hear about these so called 'Divas',people lowering them onto sofas and huge entourages!Lets get things into perspective here all they can do is sing a tune.They havn't gone and saved lives or done humanatarian work and they want to be treated like they are the most worshipprd person on the planet(Get real!)Ship her back home to her mansion and her 'Yes'men and let her live in her sickly little bubble and lets hear more about people who do matter!!

I couldn't agree more Joanne. I really can't see the appeal of Mariah Carey, I personally think she had a cheek to sing on the same stage as the likes of SuBo and Stacey Solomon as they are far better than her.
Ship her home asap!

I can't believe all of you actually believe the diva demand stories that get made up about Mariah just to generate press. There was also some story about her demanding hundreds of kittens and bunnies or something like that. Please, the woman is not crazy. Yes, she lives a glam lifestyle cause she's super-rich and yes I'm sure she does have several people she pays to do things for her, but I don't believe she requires two people to lower her onto a sofa. I've seen her on TV numerous times and have never seen her need one person, much less two, to help her get onto a couch.

What is the matter with you people? This girl is doing a good job keeping brothers and sisters employed and you get envious the way she speeds her dollas?
