Katie Price has taken a tumble out of the jungle and is now determinded to put all the icky insects and pests behind her, including ex-fella Alex Reid!

'She was fed up of him sponging off her,' a close friend of Katie's revealed. 'It just got too much for her and she's realised he's not The One.' The pal admitted that some of her friends and family weren't overly keen on Alex from the start but went along with the relationship because he was 'the right man at the time.'

Despite putting a smile on Katie's face at the hardest time in her life, a lot of them are secretly happy it's over. 'He's absolutely devastated, anyone would be, he'd flown all the way to Australia but will be flying home a single man.'

Alex has released a statement saying: 'Following yesterday's surprise revelations that Alex Reid's relationship with Katie Price has apparently ended, Cage Fighter Films Ltd, with whom Alex has contractual obligations and responsibilities, would like to make it clear that he will continue with his business meetings associated with the film Cage Rage at undisclosed locations in Australia. Naturally there are ongoing telephone conversations between the couple, but Alex has no further comment to make at this time regarding the state of their relationship.'

What relationship? It's been an emotional rollercoaster for Katie this year but a bit of closure was all she needed. It seems Katie took comfort in reliving a few memories from the jungle where she fell in love with her ex-husband Peter Andre, but now she's dusted herself down, she's admitted she's made some mistakes and friends say she's just looking forward to spending some quality time alone with her kids.

'I've come out a better person. For seven months I've acted like a right twit. I'm sorry if I've upset people,' Katie told Ant and Dec last night live on 'I'm A Celeb.' 'I was in there for a different reason to everyone else, I wasn't in it to win it, it wasn't about the money.'

'It was so tough, I've been so strong for seven months. Because we met there, I thought it would close everything. I got given the opportunity to go back there and get closure. 'People might say "Why do you have to do closure in front of millions?", well I'm sorry but that's where I met my husband, so that's the place I went back to.'

And I'll leave the last word to Katie's pal: 'Katie's a different person now, she's had her fun and got the split out of her system, now she's ready to get her life back, she's not the monster some people try to make her out to be - she's a loving, caring mother and hopefully people will see that now.'
