Amy Winehouse's dad is following in his daughter's footsteps by releasing an album next year.Mitch Winehouse told the News of the World that Amy has been badgering him to record an album for a while.
He said: "Amy and me have been talking about it for years but the timing just wasn't right."
The fifty-eight-year-old taxi driver revealed he has been singing all his life and will release his first album in March next year.
He said: "This is a dream come true and, musically it's a great album."
Talking about his troubled daughter, he told the paper she was doing well and would also be releasing an album in the new year.
He added: "If Amy wasn't my daughter I wouldn't be given this opportunity. I'm not stupid, I know that. But if I couldn't sing I wouldn't have been given the opportunity either."
