It was a case of life imitating art for Rihanna when she fell victim to the atrocious weather we've been enjoying in the UK recently.

The R&B star, whose best-known hit is Umbrella, had to laugh when the giant umbrella being held up for her was blown inside out by a gust of wind.

The singer was leaving The Wellington in Knightsbridge and the venue's manager was attempting to help her stay dry as she made her way to her car when the brolly malfunction occurred.

Rihanna was reported to have jokingly asked: "What the hell am I supposed to do with this?"

She was in London for her guest appearance on The X Factor, and was enjoying a night on the town as part of her stay.
