Cheryl Cole appears to have answered recent speculation about the state of her marriage with a picture posted on Twitter.

The singer and X Factor judge was pictured on her PR firm's Twitter feed holding her wedding ring in front of her face - with the caption: "3 words. Diamonds are forever."

Veteran actor Edward Woodward, best known for his roles in cult horror film The Wicker Man and The Equalizer, has died aged 79.

The sad news was confirmed by his agent, Janet Glass, who said the star had been suffering from various illnesses, including pneumonia, and had died in hospital.
