Dawson's Creek star James Van Der Beek is divorcing his wife Heather Ann McComb.

The couple tied the knot in July 2003 and split earlier this year but are said to be good friends still.

One of the tour buses in Miley Cyrus' travelling entourage has been involved in a crash, killing the driver.

The bus which crashed was transporting the lighting crew, while Miley was in another vehicle.

According to reports, the bus drifted off the road "for some time" before flipping over on a highway in Virginia, US.Officials are investigating whether the crash was responsible for the driver's death or whether he had already died at the wheel.

A further nine people are believed to be injured, but not seriously.

The JLS frenzy continues - this time a devoted fan has zipped herself up in a holdall in an attempt to get closer to the boys.

The fangirl had done her research and chosen the same type of luggage that the boyband were using on their tour.

She turned up outside their Dublin hotel when the bags were being loaded on to the tour bus.An insider told The Sun: "She was so meticulous, but this one bag had no tags and was moving slightly, so one of the security lads clocked it."

It's thought the girl was just about to be loaded onto the coach when she was discovered, and was said to be "minutes away from fainting" after being in the bag for nearly half an hour.

Sadly her ruse wouldn't have got her any closer to JLS, as the boys had already gone ahead in cars.

Buster, the pet dog of TV star Paul O'Grady, has died at the age of 14.

The decision was taken to put the shih tzu-and-bichon frise cross to sleep after the popular pet was diagnosed with cancer.

Buster retired from our screens earlier this month after being a regular star on O'Grady's Channel 4 chatshow. To the delight of the live audience, the dog would sit on the comedian's desk as he read out his postbag messages.

A spokesman for O'Grady - who was previously famous for appearing as the character Lily Savage - has confirmed that his is "absolutely gutted" at having to take the decision and put an end to his pet's suffering.

The Paul O'Grady Show is currently in its final series. The comedian will launch a new primetime ITV1 programme in 2010.

Lady Gaga is well known for her revealing costumes and outrageous performances, but something tells us the audience for her next big gig will not be amused unless she tones down her act.

The Poker Face singer has been invited to perform for the Queen and other senior members of the Royal family at this year's Royal Variety Performance.It's a controversial choice for the annual light entertainment event which traditionally features performers such as Bruce Forsyth, Cliff Richard or Katherine Jenkins.

During her most recent big public performance, Lady Gaga pretended to stab herself to death while playing the piano and dangled from the ceiling covered in fake blood - all while dressed in a skimpy white outfit.

It'll be interesting to see what Her Majesty makes of the 23-year-old New Yorker - real name Stefani Germanotta - whose debut album The Fame has sold more than four million copies worldwide since its release last year.

A palace spokesman said: 'I really don't know if the Queen or Prince Philip have listened to Lady Gaga, or are familiar with her.

'But the Royal Variety Performance is a well-known charitable event which they support and they meet all the stars involved.'

The palace will no doubt hope that when Lady Gaga meets the Queen in December, she'll be wearing more than she managed at New York Fashion Week - where a see-through red lace bodysuit and tiny g-string caused more than a few raised eyebrows.

The event will be hosted by comedian Peter Kay and include performances by Alexandra Burke, Bette Midler and Whoopi Goldberg - and is set to take place in Blackpool on December 7.Follow us on Twitter

Diamonds are forever."The message is partly a reference to her debut solo album, 3 Words - and partly a reference to the fact that she recently appeared on two episodes of The X Factor without her wedding ring.

She and footballer hubby Ashley Cole were reported to have been arguing publicly earlier this week when she wanted to stay out after her appearance in the Children In Need Royal Albert Hall performance, but he wanted to go home to bed.

Alternative comic-turned-best-selling author Ben Elton has hastily and unconvincingly backtracked after getting in hot water for insulting the Queen and Prince Philip.

Admittedly, the insults weren't quite in the same league as Frankie Boyle's infamous gag about the Queen - but he still seemed to upset a few people by labelling her a "sad, old lady" and referring to her husband as a "mad, old bigot".

He is now insisting that the comments, made on Australian TV's Good News Week show, were "taken out of context".We're not sure what context those quotes would have had a different meaning in, but unfortunately he doesn't really elaborate.

A representative for the 50-year-old said: "Ben Elton apologises for any offence which may have been caused.

"The quotes attributed to him have been taken entirely out of context."

We don't know if it was anything to do with the lack of white kittens, but Mariah Carey kept fans at Westfield shopping centre waiting for an hour when she was booked to turn on the Christmas lights yesterday.

We told you yesterday how she had reportedly requested that 20 white kittens and 100 white doves be supplied by the west London shopping centre - which refused on health and safety grounds.And yesterday evening she is reported to have kept thousands of people waiting for nearly an hour as she, in the words of the Daily Mail: "Drank champagne with husband Nick Cannon at the Dorchester Hotel, just three miles away."

Hundreds of fans waiting outside the venue to watch her arrive and thousands more crammed inside to watch her switch the lights on - even though she wasn't even singing.

As she stepped out of her car, a torrent of pink and white butterfly-shaped confetti was released - as requested by Mariah herself.

After arriving she disappeared to do her hair and make-up for 15 minutes before re-emerging to an indoor firework display and flicking the switch on the centre's Christmas lights.

She angered Phillip Schofield earlier this week when she was more than an hour late for a pre-recorded interview slot on This Morning - but it looks like even the wrath of Schofe hasn't forced her to change her tardy ways.

Our favourite X Factor rejects have provided a timely response to miserable old man of pop Sting's claims that the show is just karaoke - by, erm, promoting a karaoke game.

The trio, who left the contest a few weeks ago, were hired to help promote We Sing for the Nintendo Wii at the GAME store on London's Oxford Street yesterday.Sting last week hit the headlines when he lashed out at The X Factor as "televised karaoke".

He also said: "I am sorry but none of those kids is going to go anywhere - and I say that sadly. They are humiliated when they get sent off."

X Factor supremo Simon Cowell used Saturday's show to hit back, issuing a tongue-in-cheek challenge to Sting to come on the show and "impart his knowledge".

So it's unfortunate that Miss Frank have picked the next week to be photographed playing a karaoke game - but we're still damn sure we'd rather listen to their album than Sting's latest tantric snoozefest.

Johnny Depp, the sexiest man alive (still, apparently), is usually a model of decorum and a generally all round nice guy.

Which is why a video of the Hollywood star literally falling down drunk is so unexpected.

But when we say falling down drunk we really mean it. Johnny was out on a boozy night in New York but by the time he left the club, he was being held up by minders.

Having secured a massive £21 million deal for the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie, Johnny most definitely had something to celebrate.

It's unclear whether Mr Depp was already immersing himself in the Captain Jack Sparrow role, or whether he'd just spent all that money in one go, but it resulted in more than one stumble.

We've got to hand it to him though... he still managed to sign autographs (though we're not sure they'll be worth much on eBay).

The Twilight star has confessed to a "terrible guilt" after making a comment that lead to a stripping fan.

Appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Robert said: "It was after a period of signing 500 signatures and one of the fans came up."You kind of get ten seconds with each person and you never really say anything and I kind of got bored of saying, 'Hey, how are you doing?'

"And she said in her 10 seconds, 'What can I do to get your attention?'

"I was like, 'Um, just take your clothes off.'

"And she stood there and frantically started taking her clothes off and got dragged out of the room by security.

After the final is aired in the US on Monday, Kelly will have surgery on a troublesome foot injury.

Mitch also said he would be supporting "Jordan protoype" Sam Fox who he said has "lovely big boobs and is a very nice girl."

London football club West Ham is to sell a new racier kind of replica kit modelled on the saucy basque that Katy Perry wore when hosting an MTV awards ceremony recently.

The 25-year-old pop star wore a claret and blue basque on stage as a tribute to her new fella, comedian Russell Brand - who is a big Hammers fan.

The saucy outfit had a club crest on each breast and Brand's nickname "Rusty" on the bum.It was so popular with fans that West Ham has commissioned a special limited-edition range of underwear, saying it was "responding to huge demand".

The outfit's designer Siobhan Dillon used replica shirts for the unique outfit, and copies will be sold for £300 each.

She said: "I thought it would be cool to try and make the shirt as football-oriented as possible.

"So, I used the collars along the top of the brassiere and used the two badges on the front. It was made entirely from the three shirts, but we had to take the Airtex out and replace it with some lining."

There was no word on whether the replica versions would still say "Rusty" on the bum.

"Suddenly Rihanna started shouting in the face of this guy, saying: 'Where the f*** is my car?'. After another minute, she squawked: 'I mean it guys, you've now got 30 seconds to get me my car or someone is losing their employment. I f***ing mean it, 10 seconds and I get nasty.'"

Luckily the car arrived before any "nastiness", though the source added: "The driver was so panicked, he almost drove the wrong way down Piccadilly Circus."

"In the end, it was made clear that due to health and safety, there was no way we could have the animals at Westfield.

"We do not allow pets into Westfield - that rule would apply for everyone."

Exactly... let one person in with 20 white kittens and before you know it, they'll all be at it.

Police apparently spoke to Paris before leaving.

Cheryl Cole's tearaway brother Andrew Tweedy has been remanded in custody after pleading guilty to separate alcohol and driving offences.

And the 29-year-old is now facing being re-sentenced for more serious offences at Crown Court - because he has broken the terms of a conditional discharge he was given earlier this year for attacking a stranger with pepper spray.

Tweedy, of Heaton in Newcastle, admitted being over the limit and having no driver's licence or insurance when stopped by police in the city.He could now face a jail term when his case goes back to Newcastle Crown Court.

He was spared jail in May for attacking Lee Clark on August 13 last year, but has served jail time previously - missing his sister's wedding with Ashley Cole because he was doing a stretch for attacking another stranger.

Actress Farrah Fawcett's long-term lover Ryan O'Neal was left out of her will, it has been revealed.

Despite being in an on-off relationship with O'Neal since 1982, Farrah left nothing to the actor, who famously made a pass at his estranged daughter Tatum at Fawcett's funeral.

Instead, former boyfriend Greg Scott was left $100,000 - adding fuel to his claims that they were reunited before Fawcett's death from anal cancer this June.Greg Scott claims that he was kept away from the star in her final months, saying "Ryan shut me out of her life."

Fawcett, who died aged 62, left her 24-year-old son Redmond a reported $4.5m sum, and provided for her nephew and father.

As they gear up for the releases of their new album, simply titled 'Love', I met up with Shawn, Nate and Wanya for a good old natter.Little Miss Showbiz: Wow! Boyz II Men, tell me about the new album?

Boyz II Men: It's a covers album. Lots of people would think it's a bunch of love songs from three black guys who like to sing RnB music, but they'll be pleasantly surprised to find out it's an eclectic bunch of songs that really don't fit on the same album. It's one of our best, we're able to express ourselves and show that we're not just RnB singers. It's an emotional journey that will have your mind spinning!

Little Miss Showbiz: I hear the amazing Michael Buble is on the album and American Idol's Randy Jackson produced it?

Boyz II Men: Michael owed us a favour so we took him up on it! We've become really close over the last couple of years and done a couple of things together. We did a song on his last album, a couple of video shoots and a TV show so he came on board no questions asked!

Little Miss Showbiz: What's your favourite track?

Boyz II Men: 'Iris', or sometimes it's 'Could It Be I'm Falling In Love' or 'Shining Star', it's an emotional rollercoaster!

Little Miss Showbiz: Last years X Factor boyband, JLS, remind me of you! What do you think of the show?

Boyz II Men: It's great! Many record company's won't sign artists now in the traditional way because they don't want to spend money, so X Factor is a great way for record labels to see an artist and know what they're capable of without having to spend money. It's the biggest problem having to spend money up front and not knowing what a product will turn into, so X Factor gives these guys a platform to display their talent.

Little Miss Showbiz: Mariah Carey's on the show next week! Are you still in touch with her since your collaboration, One Sweet Day?

Boyz II Men: Not as much as we used to but every now and then we see her and we'll give her a hug and tell her we miss her. We both have gruelling schedules and lives but will still have the mutual respect that we had back in the day. She's one of the best!

Little Miss Showbiz: What's your advice to the remaining X Factor finalists?

Boyz II Men: Be good! You've got to be confident, keep practising and take your crowd seriously. There are a lot of people out there who are middle-of the-road singers, but only the incredible ones become successful... you have to be better than everyone else you've ever known!

Little Miss Showbiz: You've sold more than 60 million albums and been in the charts now for more than 20 years, what's the secret to your success?

Boyz II Men: We've stayed true to the music and ourselves. We love and respect each other and that allows us to maintain the group atmosphere and the integrity of the music that's put together.

Little Miss Showbiz: Apart from playing your new album 'Love', what's your secret to wooing a lady!

Boyz II Men: A lot of guys meet ladies and they put on a façade and become something they're not, but that's hard to keep up! You have to be honest, and after that comes romance, flowers, candy, wine and holding hands. When you put the 'Love' album on in the background you're not only going to fall in love, but you'll make a couple of children!

Jason: 'Why not? I don't have a pair of breasts like her unfortunately but it was fantastic and I loved the show so there's no reason I wouldn't! I didn't win but I like that I didn't win... I never got that stigma you can get from winning 'I'm A Celeb.'

Little Miss Showbiz: You'd be great! You've already said you'd never go back to Neighbours, but will you ever change your mind?

Jason: No! I think you'll see me back on TV at some point though, I did 'Echo Beach', it didn't get a second series but I think it was ground-breaking in what it was trying to achieve. It certainly wasn't a negative experience at all. I like to keep busy to be totally honest with you, I enjoy entertainment and I'm lucky enough to have a career at the moment that's diverse and fun!

Little Miss Showbiz: You're a big fan of 'X Factor'!

Jason: I love 'X Factor'! I want Olly Murs to win, he's the standout singer for me, there's no question about it! The fact that John and Edward have got this far really proves pop is still alive and anything in this world is possible! You'd never see an act like John and Edward in America, it just wouldn't happen. It seems everyone's taking it far too seriously this year, but it keeps everyone on their toes when guys like that get through!

Little Miss Showbiz: What about your good friend Kate Moss, I hear she can sing, would the judges put her through on X Factor?

Jason: I've never heard Kate sing, but I'm sure she's more than capable of belting out a good tune!

Little Miss Showbiz: You're starring alongside Liz McClarnon in 'The War Of The Worlds' next year, how does it compare to everything else you've done?

Jason: I have to say what drives me is a show like 'War Of The Worlds', I can get stuck in and after 25 years of singing I've found my comfort zone. The great thing is it's a wonderful step forward from 'Priscilla Queen Of The Desert', it's been very successful but this is an epic arena spectacular and Jeff Wayne's music is incredible. To be sharing a stage with the legendary Richard Burton is quite something too, even though he's past away. I'm excited, it's a good part and a good character and to be honest with you, it's not eight shows a week which is what I'm doing at the moment! It's bigger venues so it's four shows on and one show off. 'Priscilla' is an intense experience but this enables me to breathe a lot more!

Little Miss Showbiz: Will you be enjoying more family time with your wife Angela and kids, Jemma and Zach?

Jason: Yes, I got married in January this year. We did get married in Bali the year before that but it was more of a registry office experience back then.

Little Miss Showbiz: You broke millions of hearts!

Jason: (Laughs) At the mortal age of 41 I think one is allowed to get married... Anyway, I married my best friend, so I think that's OK!

Little Miss Showbiz: Mmm, I suppose so! Would you like to have any more kids?

Jason: I'd never say never but I'm pretty happy with the two I've got at the moment. There's never a right time to have children but it's fun practising!

It was Elen who scrubbed the wedding back in February after Frank was linked to two other women, and she says that he "broke my heart".

And she confessed that she could not face going on dates herself, saying: "It wouldn't be fair of me to start a new relationship when I still think about him.

"I have been asked out on dates, of course, but I say no to everybody."

What's not clear is whether there was a bad taste 1980s fancy-dress theme, although it looks like somebody told poor Leighton that there was anyway.

Talking about the possibility of starting dating again, he told MTV that he wouldn't have any trouble attracting the ladies, even though he was convicted of assault against his former girlfriend Rihanna.

The 20-year-old said: "My whole dating thing, I've been kind of chilling. I mean, I'm Chris Brown. I'm not saying it like that, but, it's like, girls are gonna be around."I love women. But I would say definitely I've just been chilling. I haven't really been trying to get into a relationship or trying to date anybody. I've just kind of been working on me."

He also said he was "definitely remorseful" for the attack on Rihanna.

Lindsay Lohan arriving at the 'NuPop' launchSince she's not actually doing a whole lot of work at the moment, we're concerned that Lindsay Lohan may have actually run out of money.

Only a few days ago, she threw a diva strop at a Hollywood Bar over her champagne tab and now she's had another temper tantrum at a jewellery line launch... and this time she went all out.

Miss Lohan turned up at the launch of Jermaine Dupri's latest watch line "NuPop", a collaboration with Lindsay's jewellery pal Pascal Mouawad.And even though she had been paid just to show up, Lindsay clearly felt her fee wasn't up to much and began bargaining about how much free stuff she could take home.

According to Fox News, having successfully managed to up the limit Mouawad offered her from $500 to $1000, Lindsay "went crazy".

Apparently, the actress began pulling out drawers and demanding various items that eventually totalled up to a whopping $15,000.

However, in the manner of a true diva, when told she had exceeded her limit, Lindsay responded: "Pascal would take care of it because I'm the only celebrity here."

But despite her very best efforts to explain just how fabulous she is (dahhhling), the answer was still no.

In a moment of generosity, though, Lindsay insisted that she'd be back for the remaining items, offering to "come in the next day and carry bags out so the paps could take shots."

Calvin Harris at the J20 mixed up session in LondonIt might have added even more humour to the most recent Jedward performance, but Calvin Harris is insisting there was a valid and important reason behind his storming of the X Factor stage.

The Scottish DJ leapt onto the stage during the twins' performance on Saturday's X Factor show and was due to appear on follow-up The Xtra Factor, but had already been ejected by security.

But Calvin has a point to prove and claims that he wanted to make a stand against the show's creator, Simon Cowell.Harris told BBC Radio One: "I was just inspired to make a mockery of the show. Because it is a music competition, it is a joke and I think it should be treated as such.

"It's terrible. As entertainment goes it's pretty much down there with the worst. If you look at the chart, it's like a frightening stranglehold that Simon Cowell has got over the entire music chart in the UK at the moment."

That's all very well, Calvin, but what could possibly replace the likes of Jedward?

Calvin added: "It would be nice to seem him use that power a little bit more creatively. I think it just shows that he's not really a music fan. Why can't he make groundbreaking music popular?

"He's pretty much just releasing the same records again and again and again."

Hmm... we see your point, but surely a "groundbreaking music" X Factor would prove even harder to listen to.

It's not the bitch-fest we were expecting but we're hoping that a full Sugababes feud is gradually gathering pace.

Buchanan went on to explain that she's busy with her solo career at the moment, despite continuing rumours about the return of the original Sugas.

She added: "I didn't have any plans to go solo. It was all really sudden so it's taken me a while to adjust. I love just being in the studio.

"I haven't got a release date just yet, but I think it's really important that I get it just right."

The source of these latest rumours?... Robert's auntie Diane Nutley.

Diane insisted that parents Richard and Clare "got on like a house on fire" with Kristen (we can only guess that she's a little more light-hearted in reality) and says that Robert's folks will be meeting Stewart again after this week's LA premiere of New Moon.

But why all the continued secrecy, you may ask.

Diane explained: "They had kept it secret because they didn't know if they were together or not then."

The heart-throb actor confessed at a press conference for the film that he was intimidated by the physique of co-star Taylor Lautner - but pledged that fans would get to see lots of (male) nipples.He said: "You've got a lot of nipple shots in this movie. I was really terrified - I hadn't worked out at all.

"When I saw Taylor at the beginning of the year it was quite good for the movie because I did feel incredibly inadequate.

"It made me feel a little bit emasculated next to him, with my pre-pubescent girl's body, just kind of A-cups. I needed to change that."

And female co-star Kristen Stewart joked: "I love it when they say 'topless scenes', because men don't ever do topless scenes! A lot of guys are like, finally, let the men do the topless scene."

Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle has revealed that she was bullied at school - and even beaten by teachers ignorant about learning disabilities.

The singer has told how she was hit with a belt every day by teachers and taunted by classmates.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, 48-year-old Susan said: "You're looking at someone who would get the belt every day... 'Will you shut up, Susan!' - whack!"I was often left behind at school because of one thing or another. I was a slow learner. I'm just a wee bit slower at picking things up than other people. So you get left behind in a system that just wants to rush on, you know? That was what I felt was happening to me.

"There was discipline for the sake of discipline back then. But it's all very different now. I think teachers are taught to understand children with learning disabilities a lot better."

She also spoke about the experience of being bullied at school.

She said: "There's nothing worse than another person having power over you by bullying you and you not knowing how to get rid of that thing."

We hope Sharon Osbourne reads this this story and feels very small indeed, following her recent insults about Susan on US radio.

Susan also discussed the trauma of losing her mother Bridget in 2007.

She said: "After mum died it didn't fully register until maybe six months after. That's when the loneliness set in and there was nobody around except my cat Pebbles. When you lose someone as powerful as your mum you feel as if a part of you is taken away and that does things to your confidence.

"My confidence was pretty down at that time. A good way of levelling it out, I found, was to tell myself that even though she's not here physically, she is here mentally and spiritually. That's what keeps you going. I have my faith, which is the backbone of who I am, really."

Susan's debut album I Dreamed A Dream is released next week, and is believed to possibly be the most pre-ordered in music history - with massive advance sales in the US.

Speaking to Closer magazine, he said: "Getting female attention is always great, but I'm rubbish with the ladies.

"I'm not really that good with women. People want me to show off my chest, but there aint no six-pack here!"We're not sure whether to quite believe Olly though, because he certainly looks like a bit of a charmer.

And he goes on to admit that he does have a romantic side, saying: "I once made toast and jam cut into heart shapes!"

Speaking about his school days, he says: "I thought I was a bit of a ladies' man, so I was always hanging around with the girls, trying to be Mr Smooth!"

We knew it, he's not rubbish with women at all. It's all a ploy to make himself seem even more cute and adorable!

Kelly Osbourne has revealed that she suffered a torrent of abuse via Twitter after her mum's rude comments about Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle.

Sharon Osbourne dropped her daughter in it as well as herself when she said in a radio interview that SuBo looked like "a hairy a**e" and had been hit with "a f***ing ugly stick".Writing in her column in Closer magazine, Kelly said: "Some people have directed nasty comments to me on Twitter, about what my mum said about Susan Boyle.

"She feels so bad about it. It was one of those situations where you open your mouth and before you even finish the sentence, you know you've said the wrong thing and gone too far.

"I don't know why people are giving me grief for it, what my mum says has nothing to do with me."

She also revealed that her mum's pet dog Mr Boo had died.

She said: "We've only had him a few weeks but I can't tell you how devastating it is to lose him so soon. He's seemed a bit sick since we got him, so at least he's not suffering any more."

The boys have recently prevented Robbie Williams from topping the album charts and have been attending showbiz events like there's no tomorrow.

But despite their "devastation" at the injured fans at Birmingham's Christmas lights fiasco, JLS decided to celebrate in style at London's Whiskey Mist nightclub.

Happily, Beyoncé also popped in for a bevvy and her hubby Jay-Z was on hand to really get the party started.A source told Metro: "The boys were so happy to see Beyoncé after they partied with her on Friday.

"But they found themselves in drinking mayhem because Jay-Z wanted to see what they were made of and kept sending over magnums of Ace of Spade fizz."

Either a charming gesture by Beyoncé's rapper husband or an attempt (failed it seems) to sort the men from the boys.

The source continued: "Every time they'd order something he'd send them over more.

"The hiccups kicked in when they discovered they'd finished off all the Jay-Z branded champagne in the club.

"They drank the bar dry after they ploughed through ten bottles of champagne and ten bottles of whisky that Jay-Z had ordered.

"The lads had to switch to tequila when the bubbly ran out."

The tab reportedly went past the £4,000 mark.

In his New! magazine column, Aussie Pete has quashed any rumours that he was heading back to I'm A Celebrity, saying: "Nothing could be further from the truth.

"I was approached by ITV to do the show three months ago, but I said no straight away," he writes.

"For me, it would be like going backwards and - as much as I love the people at ITV - I am keen to move forwards. And, more importantly, I can't even contemplate being away from the kids for a month."The good news is this means I'll have the kids to myself, which is amazing. You have no idea how happy this makes me."

Peter's ex Katie has already performed her first bushtucker trial in the Australian jungle and hopes her return to the show will give her "closure" in the wake of her divorce.

Pete added: "In terms of how I think she will do on the show... no comment!

"The kids will be in bed by the time it's on every night, so they won't be watching it, but I'll obviously let them see any messages she gives them."

Whether Pete himself will be secretly glued to the show is unclear.

Fry, who is famously bipolar, threatened to quit the social networking site recently when a follower complained that some of the posts were on the boring side, and a media storm followed.

Since Piers is a former editor of the Daily Mirror, he's clearly missing the opportunity to make his feelings known.

Probably not. But he explains further: "This is mind-numbing tedium of almost epic proportions. I look for a glimmer of self-awareness, some slither of humour or irony from Britain's supposedly smartest, funniest man, but there comes none."

And with his spot on Britain's Got Talent, Piers is certainly well placed to judge.

The 36-year-old made a string of gags at the expense of Britney, Jedward and Louis Walsh in the yet-to-be-screened show - but he reportedly asked for them to be cut from the show because he didn't want to upset his bosses.As guest host on the bitchy music quiz, he quipped: "The Phantom of the Opera is the story of a hideous, deformed man struggling to find love.

"If you want the punchline to this joke to be about Simon Cowell, dial the normal number plus 01, for Louis Walsh dial 02."

And referring to the controversy around John and Edward Grimes' continued survival in the show he also joked: "John and Edward have received so many death threats we've had to close the phone lines.

"So please don't call - your death threat won't count, but you may still be charged."

Another joke was at the expense of Britney Spears, who famously mimed on the show.

He said: "Oasis refused to perform on the X Factor. So did Britney Spears - but we still had to pay her."

He also called for a joke about Louis Walsh's sexuality to be cut from the script.

He was supposed to say: "Gary Numan was once so upset to be thrown out of a band, he slept with all his ex-bandmates' partners.

"It explains why Girls Aloud will never sack Louis Walsh."

But there has been bad blood between Dermot and Louis, and he called for the line to be vetoed because he had promised not to joke about the judge's sexuality.

The show will be screened next month.

Asked by the Boston Globe if he found it scary, he said: "Absolutely it's hard. It all depends where you choose to go. Movie theatres and malls aren't the best places to go. It is [scary]."But it's great to know you have all those fans and all that support behind you. It may [frighten you] at first, but it's their way of expressing their passion for you and the series. We're definitely thankful to have them behind us. That's our driving force."

He said that he was making a concerted effort to stay grounded in the face of his soar-away success.

"It's important to maintain as much normalcy as possible," he said. "Staying true to yourself and spending time with the people you did before, your family and friends.

"But sometimes it's hard and you definitely have to make adjustments. Absolutely."

Jamie was voted off the show after ending up in the bottom two alongside Lloyd Daniels. The judges were tied two-all in deciding who should go, and Jamie was revealed to have been bottom of the public vote.

Veteran actor Edward Woodward, best known for his roles in cult horror film The Wicker Man and The Equalizer, has died aged 79.

The sad news was confirmed by his agent, Janet Glass, who said the star had been suffering from various illnesses, including pneumonia, and had died in hospital.

Janet Glass celebrated his "brave spirit and wonderful humour".Her statement read: "Universally loved and admired through his unforgettable roles in classic productions such as Breaker Morant, The Wicker Man, Callan, The Equalizer and many more, he was equally fine and courageous in real life, never losing his brave spirit and wonderful humour throughout his illness.

"He was further sustained by the love of his wife, Michele, children, Tim, Peter, Sarah and Emily, his grandchildren and numerous friends. His passing will leave a huge gap in many lives."

The Croydon-born star was last seen on screen in BBC One soap EastEnders, playing the part of Tommy Clifford.

One of the true British greats, he'll be missed by many the world over.

But having recovered her composure, Katie went straight off to get her nails done again (even though she had them done in LA before the fight) and began throwing a diva strop about all the attention.

According to The Sun, waiting fans were ignored and as photographers surrounded her, Katie moaned: "It's awful. No one else has to put up with this."

She later claimed that her return to the jungle was all about relaxing, saying: "I'm very easy going. I'm just looking forward to some bloody peace and quiet."

Whether the other contestants will be afforded the same luxury seems doubtful.

Well okay, so it's only one performance that he says was rubbish but it's better than nothing we think you'll agree.

Robbie has been chatting about his strange and goggle-eyed performance on the X Factor some weeks ago.Speaking to Dermot O'Leary on his Radio 2 show, Robbie explained: "You saw how mental the audience were. When you came over to interview me I was so elated and happy about the response that I'd got from the audience. I got the temperature of the performance a bit wrong - I thought I had to do a whole gig in three-and-a-half minutes."

After the show, Mr Williams was forced to deny rumours of chemical enhancement... and apparently he still is.

"I was so excited that I'd done it," he continued. "I came off stage, you were asking me a few questions. I can't even remember what you asked, I was that high - I mean, not literally high. On life. Came off stage, high-fived my manager and my girlfriend and my dad. Ran over a paparazzi - brilliant."

High on life?.. we thought it was coffee Rob, but we'll let you off since you've made the following confession.

"And then I didn't realise it had been deemed a really bad thing... every review of the album it was like, 'After a career-threatening performance on The X Factor...' I was like, 'Christ, was I really that bad?'" he said before concluding: "I'd love to be able to blame drugs on it but I was rubbish all by myself."

Wonders will never cease.

The One Show presenter turned up at Frank's West London pad to comfort him as he nursed an injured thigh suffered during training for an England friendly and reportedly didn't leave his home until 2am.

A source told the Mirror: "Frank thinks she's a great girl and incredibly sexy. He wants to spend some time getting to know her better. He thinks she's special.

"But Christine's taking it slow and she's not rushing into a full-blown relationship. They're blissfully happy."

The pair have also been seen canoodling at London's Whisky Mist club and enjoyed a night out at Amika two weeks ago.

But 29-year-old Christine hasn't been quite so quick to deny these rumours as those that suggested a blossoming romance with Adrian Chiles... and we don't blame her.

Despite the 'no-relationship' rule, Olly and Stacey are rumoured to be openly cosying up and cheeky pop twins Jedward were reportedly caught giggling over internet porn before a singing lesson.So up steps Simon. This time he has personally given the contestants what for, even calling in their families to try and talk sense into them.

An insider told the paper: "Simon knows he has a duty of care to these youngsters and is determined to stamp the problems out NOW."

As the pressure mounts, tensions are reportedly high in the house with petty differences blown out of proportion.

Simon is apparently even considering a live-in matron to keep the housemates under control.

A source told the New of the World: "Until now there have been no staff in the house whose duty is to monitor the behaviour. It's like an out of control boarding school.

"Sure, they have security outside to keep fans at bay. But no one to ask for personal advice and support. It's like the Big Brother house without cameras.

"The team believe appointing a matron would curb misbehaviour, stop late-night antics and instil some discipline."

If he could manage to rustle up some more talent, even better.

She finished both bottles with a friend. When the bartender gave her a bill, she had a meltdown.

"She was yelling at him and screaming profanities at everyone. The bar insisted she pay, so she had to call a friend with her credit card information."

If you're wondering why Lindsay doesn't carry her own credit card information, all will be revealed.

The source added: "She was crying and wanted to go home. She kept saying, 'I don't pay for drinks! This is ridiculous! I'm freaking out!'"

Crikey... we dread to think what would have happened if she'd had dinner as well.

And clearly being constantly mobbed is getting to Robert. It seems he has become more than a little paranoid.

In a new book, Robert Pattinson: The Unauthorized Biography, the 23-year-old actor says: "People ask me to bite them and want to touch my hair. I just don't want someone to have a needle and give me HIV and I don't want to get shot or stabbed."

Which is fair enough. But that's not all.Pattinson is reportedly so terrified at high-profile movie premieres that he fears an assassination attempt or, worse still, a terrorist attack.

He adds: "Oh my God. Are they going to blow the place up?"

Normally we don't have a lot of sympathy for actors who bemoan the price of fame but in this case somebody surely needs to give Robert a holiday away and a serious reality check.

However, Pattinson wasn't always the heartthrob he is now.

According to the book, he takes being dumped pretty badly.

He admitted: "I remember when I was a teenager thinking my girlfriend was cheating on me, and going around riling myself up. Pretending to cry, I went to some pub and then went crying all the way home.

"And I got into my dog's bed. I was crying and holding on to the dog. I woke up in the morning, and the dog was looking at me like, 'You're a fake'."

Hmm... either the author or this unauthorized biography has injected some added interest of his own, or we would tend to agree with the dog.

But stars of this magnitude need such security measures, we hear you cry. That may be so, but do they really need a super-sized fan?

Well, apparently so... and we're not talking about the human variety.

Rumour has it that, alongside her super-sized cocktails, Beyoncé insisted on having an industrial-sized fan just inches from her face to give her that 'just walked out of a music video' look.

We have to hand it to her... while most of us were avoiding the gale force winds, Beyoncé created her own, all in the name of beauty.

Apparently ITV bosses are keen to fly Jordan's cage-fighting boyfriend Alex Reid into the jungle half way through the new series.

The producers are desperate to spice up the jungle antics, according to the Daily Star, and hope that adding a cage-fighting cross-dresser to the mix might have the desired effect.A source told the paper: "Alex is desperate to do the show. He reckons it will be the perfect way to show viewers that he is not the freak he has been painted as.

"And obviously the thought of getting it on with Kate in the jungle is a definite plus point."

Whether Alex flies in or not, the I'm A Celeb chiefs have installed a "love swing" in the hopes of catching some frisky stars in the act.

Studio producer Marty Benson said: "We have installed a swing away from the camp and we hope there will be some canoodling."

Having now seen the line-up, we kind of hope there won't be.

Apparently not. In fact Russ has been talking openly about the whole affair.

The scandal involved the pair leaving messages on the answer phone of Fawlty Towers star Andrew Sachs, and included Brand boasting about his bedroom antics with Mr Sachs granddaughter.

In the end Brand resigned from his Radio 2 show and partner-in-crime, Jonathan Ross, was suspended from the BBC for three months, but Russ insists it was "funny".The 34-year-old was busy signing copies of his latest stand-up DVD at HMV yesterday and was asked by a female fan which celebrity he would have liked to appear on his radio show.

He jokingly answered Andrew Sachs, before saying: "It would've been nice if he had answered his phone. No-one ever mentions that side of it. Everyone mentions me, but is it that hard to pick up your phone?

"I would've done nothing differently. I apologise for the thing I did wrong to the person I did it to but the whole subsequent scandal was funny, it is funny I think. It's just rhubarb and guff."

And he's very clear that he will not be changing his ways, insisting: "I ain't afraid, I don't give a f***. I will not lose my edge."

Apparently Joss took matters into her own hands with this one, funding the whole thing herself and roping in her brother as director.

Obviously when her record label EMI witnessed the full soap opera-style, S&M horror of the thing, they tried to bury it where it could never be found.

The 39-year-old singer is currently in the UK promoting her new album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, and has revealed that Jack is always keen to give his views on her warbling... by adding his own vocals.Mariah told the Daily Star: "When I'm at home I can always tell when the single is on the radio because Jack sings along to the chorus. He even has his own fan club in Japan."

'Singing along' or howling his disapproval?... it's difficult to know. Since Mariah is renowned for her astonishing vocal range, perhaps there's a point where only poor Jack can hear her.

Nicolas CageWe have to admit that having a stalker must be a fairly disturbing situation for anybody, whether celebrity or civilian.

But think of a silent stalker and you're probably imagining Halloween or Friday 13th (that's just a coincidence).

For actor Nicolas Cage, however, it was an entirely different, if still vaguely frightening, affair.Cage has been speaking to Parade magazine about a mime artist that mysteriously began following him.

He said: "I guess it would fall into the stalker category more or less. I was being stalked by a mime - silent, but maybe deadly. Somehow, this mime would appear on the set of Bringing Out the Dead and start doing strange things."

Given the subject matter of the movie, which follows Cage as a burned out ambulance driver who sees the ghosts of those he failed to save, we can see how the mime may have given Nicolas the creeps.

Cage added: "I have no idea how it got past security. Finally, the producers too some action and I haven't seen the mime since. But it was definitely unsettling."

Probably planning his next glass box antics we're guessing.

But Beyonce is fast becoming a diva of some magnitude. Earlier this week the songstress checked into the Lowry Hotel in Manchester ahead of a performance in Liverpool.

And just the one suite was clearly not enough. Beyonce paid for an additional room... not for members of her presumably gigantic entourage, but for her actually gigantic wardrobe.A source told the Daily Mirror: "She had seven suitcases, three hand-luggage bags and two boxes, all for her mammoth gig.

"Beyonce doesn't do things by halves - especially where her performances are concerned. So in the cases there were apparently 14 dresses along with numerous pairs of shoes.

"Another box was full of make-up and the other had about 25 wigs in it."

Bearing in mind that Beyonce doesn't tend to wear ball gowns (as far as we know) on stage, seven suitcases seems a lot for just 14 skimpy dresses.

Still, an extra suite is a small price to pay for beauty.

His representative told the BBC: "Daniel does smoke the occasional roll-up cigarette, but he was not doing anything more than this.

"We categorically deny the claims regarding Daniel Radcliffe published in today's Daily Mirror.

"We are considering our position and will be taking all necessary action in relation to such allegations."

Somehow even the image of Daniel smoking a roll-up seems all wrong.

And now even Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke is hinting at romantic goings on during filming.In an interview with Time, Hardwicke said: "After I cast him, I told Rob, 'Don't even think about having a romance with her. She's under 18. You will be arrested'."

Good advice for a young actor and his even younger co-star, we think you'll agree.

But Kristen is now 19. Hardwick continued: "In terms of what Kristen told me directly, it didn't happen on the first movie.

"Nothing crossed the line while on the first film. I think it took a long time for Kristen to realise, 'OK, I've got to give this a go and really try to be with this person'."

Now come on guys... the cat's very nearly out of the bag. And just think, if you confess your love for each other, Kristen might even crack a smile.

Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford at the 2009 AFI FestivalAn international manhunt has been launched after a man was charged over an attempt to extort £62,500 from model Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber.

US cops are trying to locate Edis Kayalar, an acquaintance of the couple's former nanny.

Reports say that Gerber paid Kayalar £625 to prevent him selling a controversial photograph of their young daughter bound to a chair, to the media.

However, Kayalar threatened to sell the image for £312,500 before being deported to his home in Germany back in September.Earlier this month, he is said to have continued his threats to sell and demanded £62,500 from the couple keep the image away from the media.

When the couple called in the FBI, Kayalar was charged with extortion and authorities are now searching for him in Germany, according to the New York Daily News.

Representatives for Cindy Crawford insist that the image was taken by the nanny during a game of cops and robbers, and that the model had no knowledge of it prior to the extortion attempt.

With her newly Botoxed face and hair extensions, Katie appeared on talk show Chelsea Lately in LA last night... and it might not have been quite what she was expecting.

Host Chelsea Handler was taking no prisoners when it came to her interview and the result was what must have been a fairly humiliating experience for Katie.

Just in case you think you're not bothered about seeing another Katie Price interview, we'll give you a little teaser.

When asked why she uses two names, Jordan replied: "I use the name Katie Price and Jordan - don't ask me why."

To which Handler responded: "It's your business what you want to do. You can go live with your horses and your kids and get Botox - I don't give a s***."

I've just heard that Katie Price's mate, Michelle Heaton, is flying to Australia today to add a sprinkle of glamour to the 'I'm A Celebrity...' camp. Her arrival, just in time for Sunday's show, has added more fuel to the camp fire that Katie will be joining the latest batch of Z-listers slumming it in the Aussie jungle.

A close pal of Michelle's told me: 'She's flying in to lend support to Katie. Michelle's already been there and done all that so she knows how reality TV can take it's toll emotionally after her stint on Celebrity Big Brother and is planning on making sure she's there for Katie.'

The pal revealed Michelle, 29, won't be roughing it in the jungle though, she's joining Jack Osbourne and more top secret celebs on the panel for 'I'm A Celeb's' ITV2 spin-off show offering her views and opinions on the contestants and stomach-churning tasks... and defending her best friend Katie!

'Katie knows there will be people hoping she has a tough time. Let's not forget the jungle holds a special place in her heart - it's where she met Pete, so it will be emotional going back without him,' adds the pal.

'We're all expecting Katie to have to do more than her fair share of this years tasks,' added my jungle insider. 'She's a tough cookie though and loved the challenges last time so she'll take it on the chin and enjoy it!'

Michelle's slimmed down and lost more than two stone after embarking on a strict no-carb diet and she's in the gym every morning at 7am. My spy tells me she can't wait to slip on her bikini and flaunt her amazing beach body with Katie, afterall isn't 'I'm A Celeb' just a free jolly!

Just when you thought the saga of the Lohans and their leaked phone calls couldn't get any more sordid or depressing, word reaches us that Michael Lohan could actually end up in chokey for his part in the calls.

Far be it from us to suggest it would be a case of just desserts, but there is speculation in the US that Li-Lo's dad could be deemed to have broken the terms of a protective order that banned him from contacting ex-wife Dina.

US gossip site TMZ says Dina had a court order issued in 2005 banning him from communicating with her by phone or email until 2011.Now the tapes of their conversations have been made public, seemingly by Michael - and one appears to have been recorded in 2008.

So if he's of breaking the rules of the court order, TMZ claims there's a real risk of him ending up behind bars as a result.

Wouldn't that be a shame?

There were a lot of watery eyes and wobbly bottom lips as Robbie Williams took to the stage with his old Take That bandmates last night, for the first time in 15 years.

Both were due to perform at the Children In Need concert at London's Royal Albert Hall.

Take That opened the show with hit single Greatest Day, before Gary Barlow announced: "What a beautiful place we are in tonight. What a perfect time to introduce an old friend of ours. Please welcome on stage Robbie Williams."At which point, Robbie insisted on man-hugging each member of the band, lip a-wobble, before singing Bodies to a by now virtually hysterical crowd.

Williams confessed afterwards: "I was tearing up before I came on, knowing what was just about to happen and what the reaction was going to be like."

A crowd-pleasing performance of You Know Me followed, while Robbie's unexpected version of Unchained Melody resulted in a standing ovation.

Talking of being back with his bandmates, Robbie said: "We should have milked it for a lot longer. I was trying to call them back and do a bow. It's the first time in 15 years we were together, we should have at least stayed for 15 minutes.

"While they were singing I wanted to grab a mic and start singing too. I would have to have been Back For Good."

It wasn't exactly a reunion, but then they are clearly keen to keep the interest flowing. Robbie added: "The ball is definitely rolling. We don't know how to do it yet, nothing is planned but I'll be keeping the Brits to myself. We'll save it for something special."

Not only does Robbie want to upstage his ex-bandmates by "grabbing a mic" he's also "keeping the Brits" to himself... presumably in case he actually wins something.

Jordan at a book signing in EssexWhile Katie Price, aka Jordan, has been busy puffing up her face and renewing her fake hair, the other I'm A Celebrity contestants are already bitching and quaking in equal measure over her arrival in the jungle.

Set up in hotels in Australia, most seem to be very much Team Pete and there could be fireworks on the way.

How Not to Decorate stars, Colin and Justin were first to make their feelings known, with Justin admitting: "I'd be really disappointed. We tried to interview her three or four years ago and she was really, really unpleasant."And Colin sniped at her extra pay packets, saying: "Jordan needs more money for her excess baggage. Do you know how much silicone weights?"

It's good to hear they look likely to provide the camp (sorry) bitchiness, as predicted.

As for the girls, fear seems to be the overriding emotion. One-time EastEnder Lucy Benjamin confessed: "I don't know what it would be like to have her in the camp. It scares me," a feeling which was confirmed by ex-Strictly dancer Camilla Dallerup.

And TV chef Gino D'Acampo confirmed he was very much Team Pete, but did say this for the glamour girl: "As for Jordan, as a business woman she is very clever.

"I take my hat off to anyone who can make a career with a pair of boobs."

Well quite.

Meanwhile Jordan herself is ready for sparks to fly. She told the Daily Star: "I don't care what the other contestants say, they're a bunch of nobodies.

"I am the only real star on the show - that's why they paid me the most money. If they want a jungle fight then they have picked the right girl."

No doubt that was all part of ITV's cunning plan.

Only recently he was confessing to being a bit soft-centred and in need of a cuddle, and now he's admitted to having an out-of-this-world experience whilst filming a new TV show.

As part of his upcoming UK show I Believe, Danny was busy mixing with alien-spotters while investigating the possibility of extra-terrestrial life.And then the unthinkable happened. Danny explained to the Daily Star: "I saw one, year. People think I'm a complete lunatic now but I did see something a bit mad.

"I went to America, to a hippie commune and had to get a bit spiritual... I went to meet some people who have been abducted and things like that, and they told me some really mad things. I think you have got to open your mind a little bit.

"I just want to believe that there's things out there. I did see something. I wasn't a plane, it wasn't a helicopter, it just looked like a massive star going across the sky. But it freaked me right out."

Hmm... of course, it could have been a massive star, Danny, or perhaps you just got a bit too "spiritual".

Earlier this week she was busy banging on about how she totally didn't realise that sleeping with girls was still classed as cheating under the rules of marriage, and now she's claiming Kanye West has made hip-hop "gay-friendly".In an interview with MTV, the singer insisted that Kanye has been pushing the boundaries of rap with experimental sounds and stylish dress sense.

She said: "Kanye West really did a great thing for hip-hop and made it very mixed and open."

After the year he's had, we're not sure Kanye will be too pleased with this new reputation amongst the rapping community but Fergie says her bandmates are on a par, saying: "They're completely gay-friendly, [too]. Are you kidding me? Look at how they dress!"

Clearly a little stylish dress sense is all it takes these days to be gay-friendly.

But apparently Victoria just couldn't find anything to live up to her high expectations and the couple are set to remain Stateside, for the time being at least.

The Beckham family moved to Los Angeles in 2007 after a spell in Spain, but insist that they are able to live a relatively anonymous life in the US.

We would have thought that anonymity would be the last thing that Posh would be after, but then there is all that shopping and all those glamorous Hollywood pals.David told Bang Showbiz: "We have a normal life. I can see us living here for a few years."

But Victoria's words tell an altogether different story.

"I found Spain a little tricky. But from the minute we landed at the airport, we were equal," she said.

"America is equal, it doesn't matter whether you are a man or a woman. In Spain it's more difficult for women."

Reading between the lines, we think what she means is that in LA, she's every bit as famous and papped as her husband... um, sorry, we mean, every bit as anonymous and reclusive as her husband.

Many have failed, but we have to admit, Victoria Beckham really has made it big in America...

Kerry Katona heading out to see The NolansIf it's not one thing it's another with Kerry Katona. Having endured a rough few months, the 29-year-old is clearly having trouble getting work.

So in an effort to improve her versatility, Kerry is on a desperate mission to learn how to talk proper... like the Queen in fact.According to The Sun, Katona is hiring a voice coach for elocution lessons, fearing that it's her Northern accent, and not the cocaine and booze binges, swearing and kebab-eating, that makes her appear common.

And the mum of four is hoping that reciting 'How Now Brown Cow' will boost her value as far as TV bosses are concerned.

A friend told the paper: "Kerry is sick of people taking the mickey out of her for being rough.

"She thinks a voice coach will help her appear more refined. She wants to speak proper Queen's English."

Of course, unless she's planning on reading the news, it's unlikely to help her. Besides, just look at what Cheryl Cole has achieved?

We're guessing that spot on comedy Benidorm won't be happening either.

The Girls Aloud singer was snapped wearing the £160,000 sparkler as she left rehearsals for the BBC's Children In Need concert in Maida Vale.Rumour has it that the X Factor judge couldn't wear her ring during the live shows because it clashed with her outfits on both occasions.

So we were relieved to see that her lumberjack outfit was perfectly complimented by the pricey diamond.

On Saturday night's X Factor Cheryl wore a black dress, while on Sunday she was dressed in a slinky red number, but clearly what is needed with a rock of this magnitude is the casual look.

Her faded blue jeans, blue, red and white checked shirt, blue and faux fur gillet and baseball cap are obviously much better suited to bling.

Marriage difficulties or not, Cheryl still makes our list of the best reality show judges...
